This week I want to share something super cool that God spoke to me about: creativity.
I've spent the past few days fasting social media because it manages to distract me from too many things, and so I've been letting God remind me how to simply be, teaching me wherever I am, to be fully present. Simply be.
Which is incredible and a much needed adjustment for me. So on my first day of my fast, I'm asked at my internship to shoot some jewelry. I have complete artistic freedom, I can shoot wherever I want, however I want. And this would have normally been super exciting and immediately lead to an hour or so scouring Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration and ideas.....except that I'm fasting so I just sat at my desk for a long time thinking about how much easier it would be if I had access to those outlets.
But I started thinking about creativity and the things God had given me a couple of days before (on my trip to Fall Creek Falls last week to be exact).
God, the Creator of everything, inspired by nothing but Himself, formed everything from nothing and He lives inside of us.
Like THE Creator of absolutely everything lives inside of us. I remember sitting at the top of the Falls last week crying because I couldn't stop thinking about how wonderful Papa is. And the air, all of the different kinds of rocks, the grass, the pine trees and the way the wind sounds whistling through them, the moss and the waterfalls, the mountains and the mud, and all the creatures from the tiniest bugs and organisms to the largest birds and foxes and all the creatures I've never seen with my own eyes. I couldn't stop thinking about all of the unending creativity that flows so candidly from our Father into us.
Once again. He lives IN US!!
And as believers, shouldn't we, who are most connected with our Papa, be the most innovative? The most creative photographers and musicians and artists of every kind? After all, He created passion and intentionally gave us those passions that we now title ourselves with.
So let's practice God-breathed creativity and ask for Papa to give you tastes of His wild, unending, incredibly beautiful creativity.
